Happy birthday to you! Congratulations! You’re legal! You can do all sorts of things you couldn’t do before like get a pilot or CDL license. You can rent a car or even adopt a child (crazy right?!)
Before you get to all that, you’ve got to celebrate! Your 21st birthday is a special time and your celebration should be just as special! Keep in mind that it doesn’t have to be all about drinking. These are ideas I love! I wish I could turn 21 all over again so I could plan one of these parties! Most of these ideas will come together quickly with one or two things from Amazon and a great outfit!
This post is all about the best birthday ideas girls will love.
1) Roaring 20’s
This idea is one of my favorites and it comes together so easily! Think black and white colors and add gold and silver for accents! You and your friends could dress up in suits and flapper dresses! Put together some finger foods and a champagne tower and you’re all set!
2) Casino Night
This is what I did for my 21st! The ladies in my family took me to a casino a few hours away for the weekend and we had a fantastic time together! You could do the same and make a trip out of it or host your own casino night! Grab a couple card decks and some poker chips and you’ve got yourself a good time! You can gamble with candy or monopoly money if you don’t want to use your real cash!
3) Disco Party
A disco party might just be the most fun you’ll ever have! You could blast 70’s funk and disco music all night! Encourage your friends to wear silver or white! The lights reflected of the disco ball and other decorations will reflect off of you too as you dance the night away!
4) Visit a Winery
If your turning 21, you could visit a winery! You could find one close to you or you could make a trip out of this! Not only do you get to taste the wine, but you get to learn how its made! If wine is not your thing you could always take this idea and apply it to beer or spirits and visit a brewery or distillery.
5) Go on a Cruise
Cruises are a great option for the girlies and they work for all kinds of budgets! You can take a cruise for as little as $300 and as much as $5,000+. Cruises are full of free and inexpensive food and activity options for you to enjoy if you don’t want to spend any additional money while on board.
6) Host a Paint and Sip
Paint and sips are always fun for me and my friends! You can find tutorials online to follow and set up at home or you could visit a paint and sip spot in your area. I love going to Pinot’s Pallet! The offer private classes and you can even pick a free painting on your birthday!
7) Have a Sleepover
Why do we stop having sleepovers as we get older? It’s such a fun time to spend with friends. As we get older and life becomes more demanding it can be hard to make time for your friends. A sleepover is a great way to reconnect!
8) Have a Costume Party
A costume party is one of my favorite ideas on this list! Remember, you can have a costume party at any time you like, not just for Halloween! You can host a general costume party or you can have a theme. Some fun ideas for themes include your favorite TV show, your favorite color, or you could even have all your friends do their best costume as you!
9) Host a Dinner Party
This idea is definitely for the birthday girls that love to plan! You can plan all the details! There are plenty of fun choices to make like your guest list, menu, color scheme, fonts and designs for your menu and invitation, and so much more! Your imagination is the limit! Some of my favorite dinner party ideas include a murder mystery party, a brunch, or taco Tuesday.
10) Host an Olympic Games!
This last idea is another one for the true planner girlies! Have fun picking out the games you’d like to compete in with your friends and what prizes there will be for winning! You could choose to do something as simple as puzzles and board games, or you could be really intricate and create your own game to play! Again, the limit is your imagination with this one!
The single piece of advice I would give is to plan a birthday that reflects who you are and what you will enjoy! Have fun planning and have a happy birthday!
